My story

Everyone has its story.
I will tell you mine

A family on the go

My father was a land surveyor; my mother owned a clothing store. After school, my older sister and I would go to my mum’s shop to study and play with our local friends. A simple and ordinary life.

The most exciting moments happened during the holidays and in summer when we would take road trips. My dad would choose a different destination every time, and would create a sort of itinerary based on a guide called “Touring”. My enthusiasm would start immediately, when I would enjoy the panorama, my face glued on the window car, whilst waiting to arrive to the chosen place and explore it.

I remember a holiday in Grado, where we would stop by stalls at the side of the road to eat peaches soaked in red wine, never have I eaten them so much in my life, or in Riccione to wander around with tandem bicycles. These emotions, together with the constant sensation of happiness and freedom, transformed themselves into passion, bringing me to choose “Tourism” followed by attending Interpreter and Translator University.

Starting to work with a plan B

I would have liked my first job to be in the travel industry, however, not finding any, I had to initiate a plan b.

I began working as a secretary in many companies and in different environments, benefitting from my language knowledge, starting from simple positions to ones with more responsibilities. I have interacted with many people of different levels and performed jobs that have helped me improve my organisational, communicational, coordination and problem solving skills.

Nevertheless, I was always feeling the lack of a job that would reflect my true desire.

On a random day, an event changes my life

During my professional life, I have found myself twice in a vortex of a company crisis. Living these situations is always a dramatic experience, regardless, when the second time happened in 2005, I took it as an opportunity to achieve what I always wanted, even though I did not know where to begin.

For some time, I worked with my former supplier, an event management company. In the meantime, my friend, who works for a travel agency, gave me suggestions that pushed me to get out of my comfort zone and to find my path.

In fact, this was the right time to create something that would represent me best. In 2006, Studio Planit was born to offer services in regards to translations, small events and tailor made travel. Discussion with clients was fundamental.

From an introspective analysis to rebranding

Throughout the years, the requests of travel consultation grew steadily in comparison to the rest of the services that Studio Planit was offering. Thus, in 2018, I felt the need to undertake an introspective analysis to understand what direction to follow. I wanted to find the right place to balance my desire to help clients with keeping my emotional vision of traveling.

I wanted to identify the ingredient that transformed some of my travels in unforgettable memories. I analysed myself, especially my journeys in Africa, and found my answer: the exclusive experiences, the immersion in local life and nature. In other words, the magic resides in the search of uniqueness and authenticity of the destination, in living cultural and rural experiences in relation to its territory.

This has brought me to specialise in luxury and experiential travel.

Luxury that attracts whoever is looking for “Exclusive” simplicity

The new concept of luxury in travel is linked with new demands and different types of needs and motivations. It is a more moderated luxury and it is closely related to culture and territory, attracting anyone who is looking for an “exclusive” simplicity.

An elegant design city hotel, an exclusive resort surrounded by the forest located on a private island, an eco-lodge in the savannah ran by the local community for an ethical and sustainable tourism or a minimal chic wedding in a converted warehouse. In other words, the search for authenticity.

This is what luxury means to me.

Local experiences that enrich you in first person

Experience is knowledge and participation: an important ingredient in understanding the different ways of life. You can learn and get to know cultures, traditions and history, immersing yourself in local experiences actively and emotionally.

Attend an ancient practice class of floral arrangements in Japan, take part in conservation activities for elephants or rhinos together with local rangers or even visit an Italian traditional lab with a tuff expert.

This is what experiential means to me.

Traveller and Consultant: A two-way communication

In my job, I love being a consultant, the first point of contact for the client to help tailor their journey according to their wishes as well as sharing with them impressions and ideas in a clear and honest manner. I like the relationship between the traveller and the consultant to be a two-way communication, by being on the same level. I strongly believe the relationship that is built is fundamental and there has to be mutual trust.

Mine is a dedicated service, facilitated by the size of the company too: the client can be assured to have only one main point of contact throughout the whole process.
